Trying to keep track of papers and presentations (or anything else) is tricky. Here’s my approach that seems to be working:
general form: 1stauthor_tag1_…tagn_journalorconferenceacronym_year
example: clark_motivating_performance_pi_1998.pdf
While the tags sometimes relate to the title, they sometimes don’t. I keep filenames and titles separated.
What works for you?

One thing that helps when naming any type of document, especially when collaborating with ohers is to include the version of the document.
I generally begin with v0.00 and move to v0.01, v0.02 and so on. This helps the collaboraters as well. If they make changes they can change the version. When publishing a course, the first digit is changed to reflect the published version. v1.00 would indicate the first published version.
Best.
